Back to blogging!
So, I took the summer months off of blogging. It was a great summer and now we are certainly reveling in the cooler evening and changing leaves of fall.
We traveled a bit less this summer and spent more time with family. Here are a few of our summer highlights.
FISHING IN OREGON: In the early summer we drove up to Oregon and did some trail running and fishing off the coast. We stayed in Newport, Oregon but also had a great time running and eating & drinking in Yachats, Oregon. We ran on the amazing Oregon Coast Trail and we ate and drank at Yachats Brewing Company which offered excellent beers and a diverse menu.
Then for a few days of fishing! Lindsay’s Dad is an expert fisherman so we were in good hands. We did well catching a bunch of ling cod and Dungeness crab. In past years I have come home with some trophy fish; large Chinook salmon one year and a halibut the next. This year no trophies but lot’s of great fishing!

PETER VISITS TAHOE: My brother Peter (finally) came out to visit for his first time to Lake Tahoe! We really enjoyed having him and had to prioritize all that I wanted to show him, not enough time in the day… but we went camping!

MAGGIE VISITS TAHOE: My sister Maggie visited a few weeks later and we had a great time with an action packed itinerary!

THE HOGAN’S DO BURNING MAN: We also went to Burning Man and had a phenomenal time once again! This year we joined some friends at Sake 2 Mi – a Sumo wrestling and sake bar theme camp. It was a very hot week in the desert but an amazing time was had by all of our crew!

Shortly after the burn we resumed trail running training and fired off the Marlette Lake 50k Ultra Marathon! More to come on that on the next post!
